A global football analytics competition powered by open tracking data

The SkillCorner × PySport Analytics Cup invites analysts, researchers, and developers worldwide to explore football tracking data in an open-source hackathon setting.

What participants get

• Australia A-League 2024/25 dataset

  • 175 games of aggregated physical metrics (midfielders)

  • 10 games of full XY tracking + dynamic event data

  • Free MIT-licensed access on GitHub

🔬 Two challenge tracks

1. Analyst Track : build visual tools or dashboards to uncover new insights for coaches and analysts.

2. Research Track : develop innovative metrics, identify movement patterns, or study decision-making using tracking + event data.

📅 Timeline

• Oct 2025 – Dataset release

• Dec 28 2025 – Submission deadline

• Jan 8 2026 – Finalists announced

• Feb 5 2026 – Paris Finale at SkillCorner HQ
